over 15 years of experience in the commercial and broadcast production industry.
Jackson has earned accolades for his work spanning documentaries, commercials and
broadcast. With a passion for documentary storytelling, he combines relentless
learning and innovation with a deep respect for the traditional cinematic techniques
he grew up with to learn and love.
He strives to cultivate a collaborative and positive work culture that fosters
creativity on every production he’s involved with.

Jackson Laidlaw grew up in Zimbabwe and New Zealand with a camera always close
by. He had a strong photographic eye from an early age – earning an A* in Photography
and spending most of his time with light, movement and composition.

My name is Jackson Laidlaw, I am a Director of Photography and commercial director
based in Auckland New Zealand. I create story driven films for lifestyle, outdoor, and
food & beverage brands. It’s always been my goal to make things that feel authentic,
adventurous and full of life.
Since the start of my career, I’ve gotten the chance to be a part of some awesome
projects with a diverse set of clients. These experiences have equipped me with the
ability to tell the story of any product, person or place in it’s own unique way.
If I’m not on set, I’m out exploring nearby trails, with my wife, son, or on my way to pay
way too much for pour-over at my local coffee shop.
